Devdas is a 1955 Indian Bollywood film, directed  by Bimal Roy, with music by Naushad. The film stars Dilip Kumar, Suchitra Sen and Vyjayanthimala in a love triangle. Set against the backdrop of rural Bengal during feudal times, it's the story of childhood friends, Devdas and Paro and whose love blossoms as they grow older, but are not able to get married due to Devdas' last minute cowardly decision and the story is about his descent into alcoholism and his friendship with Chandramukhi (Vyjayanthimala).
